THE SAFE HAVEN FOR ADRENALINE JUNKIES: ÖLÜDENİZ
In Ölüdeniz, which went down in history as the world’s best beach in 2006, there are many beaches and bays that you can explore and enjoy.
While enjoying your holiday at Club Tuana, if you would like to discover the historical side of Ölüdeniz — a must-see destination for a seaside holiday with its stunning location and natural beauty — let’s take a look at some of the most popular spots of Ölüdeniz.
Belcekız Beach
Belcekız / Belceğiz Beach offers a wonderful option for sea lovers with its long white sandy shore, accommodation options, and the meeting point of all the beautiful colors of nature. During your beach holiday, we definitely recommend sunbathing on the Ölüdeniz coastline. Belcekız Beach is also a lively hotspot thanks to the paragliding jumps from the summit of nearby Babadağ Mountain. It attracts both adrenaline seekers and those who never want to give up the classic trio of sea, sand, and sun. Belcekız, where the long sandy beach meets the calm sea, fascinates every visitor who comes here.
Ölüdeniz National Park
The national park, also known as the Ölüdeniz Nature Protection Area, has been open to visitors for many years and offers a unique meeting point where lush trees meet the sea. Add Ölüdeniz Nature Park to your must-see list, where you can enjoy swimming in its refreshing cool waters and listen to the sounds of nature while relaxing under the shade of the trees.
Hisarönü
Hisarönü, which is especially popular among holiday-loving British tourists, stands out as a destination where you can enjoy a vibrant nightlife. Accessible via the road connecting Fethiye and Ölüdeniz, the town of Hisarönü is definitely a place you should visit and add to your travel experiences.
BUTTERFLY VALLEY
KABAK BAY
Kabak Bay, located approximately 30 km from the center of Fethiye, is one of the bays that preserved its truly untouched natural beauty until recent years. The things you can do when visiting Kabak Bay can be listed as follows:
Kabak Beach
Kabak also has its own beach. However, this is not like the typical beaches you may know. There are no facilities such as sunbeds or umbrellas. Therefore, it is essential that you bring everything you may need with you.
Aladere Waterfalls
Another place where you can fully enjoy nature is the Aladere Waterfall. At the point where the waterfall flows down, the area is surrounded by rocks and forms natural pools. With a unique hiking route from Kabak Bay, you can reach this location and swim in the natural pool. Be prepared — the water is definitely icy cold.
Blue Cave
The Blue Cave is another natural pool formed by the waters entering the cave. It is very close to Kabak Beach. Kabak Bay also hosts this remarkable natural beauty within its surroundings.
THE MOST STRIKING SHADE OF BLUE: GÖCEK
Göcek, one of the first destinations that comes to mind when the phrase “deep blue sea” is mentioned within Turkey, is a favorite escape for those who wish to get away from the overwhelming pace of city life. Here, the mesmerizing blue of the sea meets the harmonious green of the forests, creating a peaceful natural atmosphere. Located very close to Club Tuana, Göcek is one of the tranquil addresses for those who want to leave the big city behind and embrace the sea.
Situated a few kilometers northwest of Fethiye and home to one of the safest harbors in the Fethiye Gulf, Göcek has hosted holidaymakers for many years, just like Turkey’s other popular tourist destinations such as Alaçatı and Bodrum.
Famous for its beautiful bays, Göcek is an ideal destination for enjoying blue cruises and daily boat tours. For many years, it has been a favorite among sea and yacht enthusiasts and remains one of the most popular holiday routes along the Mediterranean coast.
Known in the past as Hyparna and Kamche / Kalimche, Göcek once marked the borders of the Carian and Lycian civilizations. Located between Telmessos (Fethiye) and Kaunos (Dalyan), two of the most developed cities of the Lycian civilization, Göcek served as a coastal settlement and is extremely rich in both historical and natural heritage.
Monumental tombs and ancient baths from the Lycian period reflect Göcek’s historical past. Tersane Island, located very close to the Göcek coast, attracts attention with its remarkable ancient ruins. According to mythology, the legends of Icarus and Daedalus are also believed to have taken place in Göcek. In fact, the name Göcek is said to originate from a mythological story related to Daedala.
While enjoying your holiday at Club Tuana, how about taking the opportunity to explore the beauty of Göcek as well?
Lycian Way
Saklıkent Canyon
To enter and pass through Saklıkent Gorge, a 200-meter-long wooden bridge suspended from iron railings along the steep cliffs of the canyon is used. At the end of the bridge, you will encounter karstic rocks where visitors can sit in the water or swim.
The discovery of the canyon is relatively recent. According to a legend, a shepherd ran after his ram when it escaped and, while chasing it, reached the location of the gorge and discovered Saklıkent Canyon.
Because the water is extremely cold, it is best to visit during the summer months. In winter, entry to Saklıkent Canyon is not permitted due to rising water levels caused by heavy rainfall.
For this reason, we recommend making your summer holiday reservation at Club Tuana as soon as possible.
